It's been an interesting week, but mostly because of Avenue D. The lovely ladies from New York came to Amsterdam to play a show at the Winston. I was not dissapointed, and in fact enthralled to hear new songs such as my personal favorite, "USA=#1!"

I managed to get a copy of a promo CD that the girls produced to promote the release of their three(!) new CDs. Their song with Boy George entitled "Fire, Desire" is totally ace!

Well, getting settled in okay. Here are a few pics that show the place off quite well. I live on the Prinsengracht, just down the street from the Westerkerk and the Anne Frank House. My room overlooks the canal. And I even have my own little kitchen-type-thing!

It's been a weird day. Well, it's kind of a couple days all in one big package. It's now nearly 7PM on Wednesday. I've been up since 9AM Tuesday morning. The dissertation is done, but I'm so tired that I haven't really noticed yet.

I did do something awesome though. Well, at least to me it is. I have a Parker Pen that Marius gave me once. It's the best pen ever for writing. But it has blue ink. Black is my favorite ink. I stumbled across a Parker Pen store on the Kalverstraat. Three euro later, and I'm a man with black ink. Rock on.
