Still raining. I saw the first rainbow I'd seen in ages. Even better, it was a double rainbow...

Made out like a bandit at Best Buy... Got "The Clipse" CD, the "Jackie Brown" DVD, 50 CDRs, and a USB mouse for only forty-four dollars. You just have to love that place.

Just a rainy Florida day... Liz and I managed to hook up my laptop to her home network, much faster than dial-up... heh

Dunedin, a small city not too far from Clearwater, just happens to be the sister city of Stirling. I'm going to try and get a picture in front of the sign... Yeah, I'm that lame... but I love it...

Made it to Florida safely yesterday afternoon. Got the bags loaded into Liz's vehicle, and it was off to adventure. Well, off to a good seafood restaurant, at least. Last night was pretty quiet as I was still tired from not sleeping much the night before. Was going to try and be asleep by midnight, but "Hud" was on TV, and I couldn't help but watch.

Florida is amazing. For a Kansas boy, all the water is a little overwhelming at first. But, I think I've taken to the beach well...

In the midst of packing my bags and getting out of Dodge...

Movies I watched recently - "Wet Hot American Summer," "Pendulum" and "Sexy Beast."

Have to finish getting my things together...

I'll keep this short as I'm not feeling well at the moment. EVERYTHING arrived yesterday. The laptop, the MP3 player, the backpack, etc. I spent the better part of the last twenty-four hours taking care of everything, except of course, myself. Now this three hours of sleep is catching up with me...

I also watched "The Cat's Meow." Much better than I expected. Kirsten Dunst did a fine job, but the real surprise had to be Eddie Izzard. For a man best known as a cross-dressing comedian, the guy's got some dramatic talent as well...

Anyone who knows me realizes that I'm not usually one for sports movies. In fact, "Slap Shot" is just about the only one I watch on a regular basis. Well, add to that list "Mean Machine." I've been trying to track it down for awhile, but it was totally worth it.. It's all about "The Monk."

Just finished watching "Election" not too long ago. It was one of those movies I didn't expect anything of. Boy, was I ever wrong... I'm totally buying it the next chance I get.

Didn't do much Sunday. I finally got my e-mail inbox cleared out, though.

Just finished watching "Little Voice." Talk about seeing Brenda Blethyn in a TOTALLY different role... I really enjoyed it. Depressing at times, but overall, a pretty good film. Jane Horrocks is AMAZING...

Saturday, August 17, 2002

Just finished "Saving Grace." All I can say is that was one great movie. Brenda Blethyn was great as always. Might have to buy that one...

Yesterday I watched "Gosford Park" at 7AM... It was all right, but I was shocked at the fact that, for the first time, I didn't hate Richard E. Grant. In fact, his character was just about my favorite... I think that's a sign of the end nearing...?

There are still remnants of the coconut on my front porch from Wednesday night...

Last night ended up being quite the little movie night. First I watched "Boondock Saints." It took awhile to finish because of numerous interruptions, but I'm glad that I stuck to it. I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. Afterwards, Younker hadn't seen "Dancer In the Dark," so I put the DVD in. It's just as depressing to watch on the second go-around.

This afternoon, I drove to Great Bend to watch "Signs." I really liked it, although it got a little too preachy at times. I picked up some movies at Blockbuster, but I'm not sure if I'll watch them tonight or not.

Dude, I'm gettin' a Dell!

Yeah, I know. That's lame. But I'm ecstatic. Dell was the only place that would give my poor student ass some financing options. They limited me to $1,500, but I managed to milk it for all I could get. I'm getting a laptop... hell yeah.

A run-down of this weekends activities:

Friday - I stayed home and watched "Snatch." It was a lot better than I had expected. I liked a lot of the unique camera work.

Saturday - In a word, "amazing." It was Randine's birthday part out at the Rich household. Everyone seemed to be back in town. Watkins, Paul, Kyle French, Adam, and the list goes on. Anyway, I was running smoothly off a 40 when I arrived, but there was more to be found. Some Parrot Bay here, some Captain Morgan there, and then a Colorado Bulldog for good measure. My mission for the evening was to take a shot with Bob. Mission accomplished. Before we left, Jenny hooked me up with some tequila and salt. Bob and I took the shots, and he followed by giving some good advice on distilleries when I go to Scotland. Of course, I don't remember what he said, but that's just an excuse to do it again. :)

Sunday - Didn't do much. Michael came over to watch the tape of Saturday's Big Brother. Then Beth showed up, and Adam stopped by.

Well, I have to go. Still have to finish cleaning up. Knop said something about watch "Boondock Saints," and I'm supposed to help Younker re-format his computer...

Caught "Lone Hero" the other day. Not a bad flick, by far. Then again, I could be biased because the Fors was in it...

Saw "Super Troopers" for the fourth time today. I'll never get tired of that movie.

Knop, Josh and I took shots and headed to the pool. A memorable experience, the say the least...

Just finished watching the film version of "Our America." First off, if you haven't read the book, go do it. As for the film, I hate to say it, but I was disappointed. I understand that the director wanted to get his point across, but there was too much melodrama. I found the short featurette after the film to be much more worthwhile.

Yesterday was Mom's birthday. We went to Applebee's and had a nice little dinner.

Not much has been going on. Have been shopping around online for laptops and MP3 players... Night.
