I think I've been bitten by the travel bug. Apart from going to Glasgow to visit James and his family over Christmas, I haven't left Manchester since I got here in August. But I'm heading to Amsterdam to visit the uni there in a few weeks. That got me thinking about finally making the trip to London, which I'd like to do in early April.

In the last few weeks, though, I've seen some good French films. France was one of those places I always wanted to go, but have never really had a reason to. The thing is, I generally travel by myself, but in the case of France, I think I'd rather go with someone. The question is, who can I recruit to go to France with me?

By the way, Goldie Lookin' Chain was brilliant. I want them and Fierce Girl to do a show together...

Well, it's been an interesting week. I finally finished my essay, saw a couple of good films, and as if I already didn't know, apparently my bitch of a flatmate thinks I'm a "wanker." Ace.

Summary:

Essay - Done.

Films seen - "In Good Company," "Assault On Precent 13," and "A Very Long Engagement"

Flatmate - can't speak to my face, not worth the time...

Major positive - Emiliana Torrini's new album, "Fisherman's Woman." She's coming to Manchester in April. She's totally changed styles from "Life in the Time of Science" but it totally works in her favor.

It's weird... Do you ever have a day when you don't hear a song for ages and then it just suddenly pops in your head? That's what happened today when all of a sudden I kept thinking of Cantspeak by Danzig. Crazy.

Anyway, Darren, Joe and myself caught Anatomy of Hell earlier. Easily one of the most messed up films I've seen... well, ever. It was quite interesting, but if you're easily squeamish, you might choose to stay away.

Well, it's been a crazy few weeks. Have had many essay deadlines, but due to a crazy bout with the flu, have had to seek extensions. Here's hoping things go a bit smoother over the next few weeks and beyond!

Went to see a performance of Cirque du Soleil's "Saltimbanco" tonight. I'd never seen any of their stuff, so I was totally blown away. So glad that I could make it. It was funny, at one point they actually signed the spotlight on John for one of the bits of audience interaction. The funniest thing about it was that it was actually my seat, but he chose the aisle instead. ;)
